Noisy New York

The smell of petrol, the sound of a car horn 'honking' every second and steam coming out from the the grates on the road .... must be New York City. NYC is one of those place that hits you and takes your breath away, leaving you speechless. In this post, like Aesthetic Amsterdam, I will be scoring and reviewing attractions around the Big Apple.

Central Park 10/10 ~ We've all seen it in the movies and TV shows, the huge park right in the middle of Manhattan named Central Park. The best thing you could ever do in Central Park are these three steps. 1) Buy a giant pretzel and Snapple at one of the Hot Dog carts outside the park 2) walk around slowly, eating the pretzel and snipping on the drink. Feel free to take photos of yourself in the park, the scenery or a snap of one of the cute brown squirrels playing in the grass. Finally, 3) Step out of the park and realize how quiet it is compared to the busy streets of the city. Through out the piece of baking paper that came with your pretzel and the empty Snapple glass bottle then return to the craziness of streets of Manhattan feeling zen, ready to return to the park the following day.

Museums 10/10 ~ New York City may be full of cars and noise but it's also full of culture. When visiting the city you must visit one out of the three most famous museums. You can visit all three if you want, just not in one day..... The museums are Metropolitan Museum of Art (MET), Museum of Modern Art (MoMa) and American Museum of Natural History. If you are interested in a traditional museum that has everything from Tudor period to early 1900's that is one of the most famous museums on the globe and even holds an annual ball called the MET Gala, then the MET is for you! If your more interested in modern art, from the early 1920's to today, featuring artists such as Andy Warhol then the MoMa is the place for you! If your not so interested in standing around looking at colourful paint on a canvas, and perhaps you're a fan of the movie series Night At The Museum or Ben Stiller, then I would recommend the Museum of Natural History where you can find anything from a piece of a comet to thousands of species of butterflies and the set of movies.

Brooklyn Bridge 9/10 ~ One of the most iconic sites in New York City, the Brooklyn Bridge. If you are looking for something adventurous, romantic or a place for some awesome photo opportunities, this is the thing for you to do! When walking the Brooklyn Bridge I would recommend catching a yellow taxi (very New Yorker!), walking one way (to Brooklyn) on the bridge (if you're up to it, walk it both ways, what every floats your boat!) and explore Brooklyn. This is a great way to get to know another part of New York. After crossing the bridge you can catch the fairy back to the main island. This is a great adventure and trip to do when you visit the Big Apple.

*Another neighbourhoods to explore would be SoHo and Chelsea. I've explored all three and loved all trips!*

Statue of Liberty 9/10 ~ This is a must when visiting Manhattan!!!!! You have to visit the Statue of Liberty when in town!!!! It's a half-day long trip but total worth it!! Go out on the ferry to the island, take those touristy photos and buy one of those foam crowns! There are also great views of the city skyline from the statue for you to sit down on some grass, in the sun and look at it while you dream about what it would be like living in the Big Apple.

*Other places to visit in the city are Time Square, Macy's (which has it's own postal code for the shoe department), the Plaza, the Empire State Building, The Rock, UN Headquarters, Grand Central Station, New York State Library, NYU and the F.R.I.E.N.D.S (only the outside of the building).*
